Thank you for being here and reading this message.
Many of you are friends, new friends to be made, family and acquaintances. The fact that you are here shows you care about others.
When I first learned about and then began to fully understand the plight of countless forgotten souls, literally millions of people who live daily in unfathomable conditions without any hope, I was shocked and horrified.
It was actually hard for my mind to comprehend.
The women, mothers, daughters and grandmothers struggling for many hours a day just to reach an often polluted water source to fill their heavy jugs and water containers with contaminated and diseased water. Then to carry them home over long distances to their families to be used for drinking and cooking.
These women doing this every day... having no other choice, no other options available to them. The need to find water to survive driving them to desperation.
Subsequently, because of the lack of readily available clean water, disease and death is rampant, especially within the ranks of children, children often five years and younger...deaths in the thousands.
Deaths that could have been prevented by, among other things, a clean and safe water source!
When I read about this critical situation and became aware that Gospel for Asia was working vigorously to provide solutions locally to serve the needs of these families and villages I was overjoyed and more so when I found out I could be a part of a working solution!
I found out that GFA with the use of local labor and equipment could produce clean and safe water wells for a village for USD $1400!
I was thrilled! These poor people were going to have options by the Grace of God.
But then I realized I couldn't do this on my own. It would require several of us to make this happen!
You see even with God's blessings in my life I didn't have all the funds needed to do one well by myself not even a $1400 well...but if the "I" were to become "we" and we each did our part according to our abilities we could not only provide for one well we could help produce many more wells for the benefit of these dear people and all to the Glory of God.
So I'm asking, will you join me, will you be a part of this and will you contribute what you can?
Will you make a remarkable difference in these people lives? A difference they would not expect except through your generosity and the mercy and loving care of Jesus.
Let's send up a prayer and roll up our sleeves to get the work done in providing hope to these people, people precious in the eyes of the Lord.
Many have never heard the name of Jesus and the Gospel Story. We can take that message to them in an act of kindness an expression of Christ's love.
Let's share our blessings and may the Lord bless and multiply our humble gifts.
"I know I will never be able to stand again in front of my kitchen sink and turn on the water faucet without thinking about the plight of those dear women struggling daily to collect water for their families".
Perhaps consider your thoughtful donation in this way:
When crossing a stream, there can be large stepping stones, middle sized and small stepping stones and as you carefully take your steps toward the goal of the other side of the stream you are furthered along, stepping stone by stepping stone.
Each generous donation is a stepping stone, no matter the size, toward the goal of providing a Jesus Well to those in dire need...and a help and blessing to you on your journey to your final destination.
