What can $200 really do for the kids on the street in Asia? I really don't know. But I can't sit back and do nothing any longer. I have a collection of stuff that has been sitting downstairs that we no longer use. I know I need to pass it on or do something (anything!) with it but have been unable to do so (think slight hoarding tendencies... okay so "slight" may be an understatement depending on who you ask).
Until the GFA representative came to our church last Sunday, 18 Oct 2015, my stuff had no purpose. When I checked out their website when I went home, I confirmed that indeed 100% of their mission donations actually goes to the mission field. Also I saw a page that gave ideas about other things you can do to help and I saw something that said 'garage sale' and I knew this was something that I could do.
So NOW I have a reason for parting with my items. Something that is very hard for me to do. But, I feel that I can do this if I knew it was for a worthy cause- not just so that I can get a few bucks. Cause really, a few bucks can't erase the memories associated with all the stuff. The reality is- all this stuff is getting old and someone else out there could really be using it now. I know all these things. However, it's hard for me to actually let this stuff go.
So would you please help me help others by helping me reach this small goal to help the kids through decluttering and selling off my stuff. You can help too by decluttering yourself, selling it, and then adding your monies to the total here, create your own fund for a different item/cause, and/or send me encouraging messages as you watch me go through this process. Street Children
Give a safe haven for vulnerable children
Many cities in developing nations are rife with children who live alone on the streets. These children are vulnerable to kidnappers who sell them into bonded labor and the sex trade. Those who avoid kidnappers fall into gangs, drugs, and alcoholism. They know only distrust and pain; every day is a struggle to survive.
Your donation supports GFA's ministry to street children. Street children homes provide the children with shelter, education, and food, as well as a message of Christ’s love.
