Today (February 24, 2013) I turn 28 years old, and I have decided that I want to raise $2800 to help street children in Asia ($100 for each year of my life). I have been involved in Gospel for Asia sponsorships for about 10 years now; an excellent organization that gives 100% of your money to the designated cause.
It is a tragedy that there are so many children who walk the streets without food, clean water, shelter, and education (basic needs that we daily take advantage of). $2800 will cover of all these basic needs for a year for about 7 children. Please join me by making a contribution to this excellent cause. "If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord- and he will repay you!" Proverbs 19:17, NLT
When reading "No Longer a Slumdog" by K.P. Yohannan, the founder of Gospel for Asia, one story struck my heart strings to begin this fundraising campaign. This is what he wrote;
"One of the most shocking reports I have ever read appeared in the Indian Express several years ago. On the front page was a photo of a little boy, half naked, lying on the sidewalk of a busy street. Next to the boy was a dog. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a female dog, and the little boy was actually sucking her milk. The caption read, 'This Dog Is His Mother.' The three-column article went on to describe the heartbreaking agony that homeless children face as they try to survive on their own."
It's time for us to be proactive and help change the lives of these young vulnerable children who have no one to advocate on their behalf. Thank-you!

God is so good! Thank-you all so very much for being a part of drastically changing the lives of so many children! I am so thankful that we have together raised over $4000! Let's continue to work together for the glory of God and His kingdom!
Street Children
Give a safe haven for vulnerable children
Many cities in developing nations are rife with children who live alone on the streets. These children are vulnerable to kidnappers who sell them into bonded labor and the sex trade. Those who avoid kidnappers fall into gangs, drugs, and alcoholism. They know only distrust and pain; every day is a struggle to survive.
Your donation supports GFA's ministry to street children. Street children homes provide the children with shelter, education, and food, as well as a message of Christ’s love.
