What a wonderful blessing it will be to have the Bodo language literacy curriculum funded and ready for translation in 2015! You can be a part of making that a reality!
How often do you send a text message? How often do you read a text message? Just imagine what it would be like to not even be able to dial a number on a phone, let alone read a text. Can you imagine not even being able to read this paragraph? This is the sad truth for millions of women in Asia who are totally illiterate. Just think of how your life would be without being able to read or write. These women cannot advance themselves through education and find themselves taken advantage of in the marketplace and business dealings.

Now think about how many text messages you send or receive per day. If you gave just one cent for every text you send or receive, how much would it add up to? What about five cents? What about twenty-five? Gospel for Asia currently has literacy programs for women in thirteen different languages. For only eight thousand dollars, GFA can add a fourteenth. As these women learn how to read and write, their curricula will also teach them hygiene, preventative medical care, and basic life skills, all based on biblical principles.

How can you get involved?

Please prayerfully consider donating a fixed amount for every text that you send and/or receive in a month.Though it may seem small, if enough people participate, it can become a reality. Think of all the times you read a day that you take for granted. These can be ways for you to give so others can read. Other possibilities beside texts would be donating the cost of a magazine or a newspaper subscription. Or an e-book. Or a book club membership. Or the cost of your internet service for a month. Or you fill in the blank....
