Message from James & Rue
We did not want to miss this great opportunity with our wedding to bring everyone together to support a cause we both passionately care about.
Gospel for Asia is a mission organization that recruits local missionaries, provides training and support and then sends these missionaries back to their homes to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Because they are local, the cost of training, equipping and sending them is only a fraction of what it would cost for someone like us to try to reach people in these areas.
What we are asking is that you set aside all or part of what you would have spent on a wedding gift and give to this organization instead. (Don't worry, we still did a traditional registry on amazon.com if this just isn't your thing or if you still want to do something else.) But seriously, as nice as having certain things to start our life together would be, we can buy stuff later on. We just see people trading sin, death and Hell, for eternal life and the righteousness of Jesus Christ as a bit more valuable than a toaster. (But if you give us a toaster, we won't be offended).
We set a goal of $1800. That would be 5 missionaries being fully funded for a year. If everyone coming gave $40, we would meet our goal.
Please prayerfully consider giving to this cause in lieu of a wedding gift.

About National Missionaries
National missionaries have a passion to help the people in their nations understand Christ's love. They pray for and minister to those who are sick. They provide income-generating gifts to families living in poverty. They serve communities in practical ways, such as by organizing medical camps, adult literacy classes and community service projects. They help mothers and fathers provide for their children's education and future development. They also have a deep burden to help people know and experience the love of Christ—just like they have experienced.
Through GFA's National Missionary Fund, we can provide for the ministry and living expenses of the missionaries who do not yet have sponsors. This enables them to stay focused on the work God has put before them.
