I'm excited to have another birthday while I'm still healthy, young, and able to work and serve the Lord!
I cannot imagine not being able to read and write. Every day I write emails, jot notes, and read the Bible (okay, not quite everyday, but I try). I often write contracts, study maps to new places, find new recipes, journal prayers or thoughts, and write letters.
What if I couldn't do any of these things? What if I really, truly, simply Could Not read or write?
For my birthday, I would like to help people learn to read the Bible. If you want to give a gift for my birthday, please donate towards this campaign.

Let's bless someone who needs it more than we do. Someone who can't do simple math to get good prices in the marketplace. Someone who can't write a note to remember. Someone who can't read about God's love and study the amazing truths in the Bible. All because she can't read or write.

About women's literacy
There are over 250 million women in South Asia who are illiterate. Because of this, GFA workers are training thousands of women every year to read.
Your donation will enable GFA to provide books, training materials, and classes for women in developing nations. This will empower them to care for their families, avoid bad contracts that cause debt, and overcome abusive employers who take advantage of their ignorance. They’ll also get better prices at the marketplace—just because they can do math. Finally, churches will be strengthened as women are able to read the Bible for the first time.
