As volunteers for GFA, we have the unparalleled privilege of seeing the Great Commission being fulfilled right before our eyes. Thousands of Asia’s low-caste children are coming to Christ through our Bridge of Hope program. These young lives are being transformed from a cursed predestined plight of utter despair to a life of renewed eternal hope that is found in Jesus. The children attending our BOH schools today, will be carrying the mantel of Christendom tomorrow. Together, we are equipping these children with the spiritual guidance that will enable them to reach their generation for Christ.
Below is a little note we received from one of our volunteers who has just returned from visiting them

My husband (Chuck) and I (Sarah) have been volunteers for GFA for over ten years. We recently had the privilege of going on a vision tour.
We were able to go to two different Bridge of Hope centers. The staff at these centers do an amazing job. There’s a sense that they genuinely love the children, which is quite a feat considering there are over a hundred children in each center.

The children performed songs and dances and scripture recitations for us. Afterward, we had an opportunity to interact with the children. They all loved getting their pictures taken and seeing themselves in the photo. They asked us our name and our favorite color. They all had bright eyes and smiling faces whether they were shy or outgoing.

At the Lucknow center, there was a sewing class for girls about age twelve. They are taught hand sewing skills like sewing on hooks and making eyes, sewing on buttons and hand sewing buttonholes. They will progress to using the sewing machine and making clothing. The class I interacted with had been in session for two months and they were working on their hand sewing techniques. Each girl was very proud of their project book and beamed as I paged through each one. It’s so exciting to think that these girls will have a skill from which they will be able to earn an income. Plus they receive an education to know how to handle their little business as they graduate from the center.
As a volunteer, it was so encouraging for me to see with my own eyes the BOH centers and the children we are encouraging others to sponsor. What I do, what we do as volunteers does make a difference in the lives of real children for eternity.

Brothers and sisters, you can have such an impact in the lives of these little ones. Though we may not be able to provide for all the hurting children of Asia, you can surely make an eternal difference in a child that you support. As a volunteer, there are many ways you can raise money to sponsor one of these children. Some volunteers raise funds by having garage sales. Others by selling special printed T-shirts. Still others by having bake sales. We even have one volunteer who makes and sells puppets, donating her proceeds to our Bridge Of Hope schools. Do you want to make an immediate impact on this world for Jesus? I can’t think of a better way to invest your time or resources than to help raise the funds that will allow a child to attend BOH. Your genuine and creative efforts will enable a deprived child to receive food, education, clothing, and Biblical spiritual growth. The kindness shown will reflect the love of Jesus to the children, their parents, and the community around them.
