In the USA, there are more than 325 Million Bibles. Each American household has an average of 4.7 Bibles. This means that there are almost 2 Bibles per person here in the US! In theory, there is NO person in the US who could not gain access to a Bible, and most could access multiple copies.
Contrast this with South Asia, specifically the "10/40" window(10-40º N of the equator). There are 4.4 BILLION people (2/3 of the world population) and 80% of the world's poorest people are living in the 10/40. 90% of these people have never heard of Jesus or the true God, most worship false Gods or nothing at all. In addition, 99% of those in the 10/40 do not have access to a Bible, including devout Christians and even Pastors. Where can do these people go for answers or to grow in the Lord? Sadly, some have nowhere to go, and 80,000 die every day without hearing about Jesus. Jesus has told us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation", which is where PASSION comes in! Garrison Baptist's Drama Team and Youth Group are excited to partner with Gospel For Asia, who uses 100% of donations to minister to those in the 10/40. Our goal is to raise $500 to provide Bibles and Tracts to those in South Asia. Every Bible, printed in the native language and delivered costs only $3.00, and Tracts are only a half of a cent each. Our church has the potential to provide 100 Bibles and 40,000 Tracts to those in South Asia who hunger for the word of God!
